Dr. Davis to address AKA Founders’ Day

The local Pi Chi Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., will celebrate the organization’s

111th International Founders’ Day on Sunday, Feb.

24, beginning at 3 p.m. at Bethel A.M.E. Church at 535 E. Barton in West Memphis. The Theme of the program is Exemplifying Sustainable Sisterhood and Service.

Keynote Speaker for the program will be Dr. Angela Davis of AMD Family Dentistry, PPLC in West Memphis, a local dentist who has been in private practice for 13 years. Dr.

Davis is a graduate of Arkansas State University in Jonesboro, where she received a Bachelor’s degree in Biology; and a graduate of the University of Tennessee College of Dentistry in Memphis, where she received her Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree (D.D.S.). She is a former President and current member of Phi Chi Omega Chapter and now serves as the Arkansas Cluster Coordinator for Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.

The program will be highlighted by recognizing and honoring individuals who Exemplify Sustainable Excellence in Crittenden County based on the organization’s International Targets.

A reception will follow the program. All other area Greek organizations as well as the general public are invited to attend.

The program chairperson is Ms. Sharonda Robinson.

Other Committee Members are Mrs. Pamela Harper- Roberts, Mrs. Dewandrea Hubbard, Mrs. Claudie Forrest, Mrs. Gwendolyn Freeman, Mrs. Annette Johnson, Mrs. Bobbie Woens Nelson, Mrs. Emma Milliner Robinson, and Mrs. Patricia Turner. The local chapter president is Mrs. Carolyn Anthony.
