Bug Bomb sparks scare at Earle High School

Student prank causes chaos

ralphhardin@gmail.com What might have seemed like a harmless prank resulted in a potentialthe potentially deadly situation at Earle High School when two students set off an insecticide canister that resulted in at least three people being exposed to a noxious gas.

“Today, there was a situation that occurred at the high school; where two students set off a Raid Bug Bomb,” read an alert posted to the Earle School District’s Facebook page. “One teacher had an asthma attack, one student had an asthma attack, and one oth- er individual was affected as a result of this incident.” No further illness or injury were reported.

“This situation is currently under investigation and the two students have been suspended,” informed the notice, along with the notice to parents: “Please advise children not to bring chemicals/hazardous materials to school.”
