Griggs announces for County Treasurer

Devin Griggs announces his candidacy for Crittenden County Treasurer.

Griggs graduated from the University of Memphis with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration with a major in Finance.

For the past twelve years, he has worked in the mass appraisal industry with many county level offices, including the Tax Collector's Office, the Circuit Clerk's Office, the County Clerk's Office, and the Assessor's Office. He has extensive knowledge of how county government operates and receives its revenue. Griggs has been responsible for managing the discovery, entry, and valuing of properties, which in return helps fund school districts and the county general fund. He has extensive knowledge of assessment ratios, mileage rates, and the valuation of entire counties. He has served as Secretary/Treasurer and deacon for his church while also teaching financial classes and providing financial counseling for those in need. Griggs believes the combination of his experience on the county level and his experience and education in finance is the perfect formula to be the next Treasurer for Crittenden County.

Griggs was raised in West Memphis, and as an adolescent he spent most of his time at Tilden Rodgers playing baseball, Friendship Field playing football, and the West Memphis Boy's Club playing basketball. His tenth-grade year, his family relocated to Wynne. He graduated from Wynne High School in 2005, and married his high school sweetheart, Kayla Baskins, two years later. In the past eleven years, they have had many accomplishments together. They both graduated with Bachelor's Degrees from The University of Memphis while working full time jobs.

Also in that time, they followed their passion in real estate, buying, renovating, and selling multiple houses until finally settling in their “forever home” to raise their two wonderful boys, Emery and Sullivan. Kayla is currently using her education in Biomedical Engineering to serve our veterans at the VA Hospital.

Given the opportunity, Griggs would be honored to use his education and experience

to give back to the

community in which he calls home by serving Crittenden County as their Treasurer.
