Crawford, 20, likely drowned after car ran off I- 55

The body of the missing driver whose car ran off Interstate 55 into Big Creek has been found.

Friday morning around 8 a.m., divers went into Big Creek near Turrell. After a brief search, according to the Crittenden County Sheriff's Department, the body of 20-year-old Dequan Crawford was found.

Crawford called 911 just after 3:30 a.m. last Thursday. He had driven off I-55 into Big Creek. At the time of the call, he said he was standing on top of the car.

Emergency responders arrived to find Crawford and his vehicle missing. Crittenden County Search & Rescue found the car but not Crawford. The search was resumed early Friday morning, when Crawford’s body was found.
