Barrett in Custody

Homicide suspect Carlton Barrett, 26, of West Memphis, turned himself in early Thursday morning at the West Memphis Police Department. Investigators had been seeking seeking Barrett for the shooting death of Demetrius Hoard, also of West Memphis, on Tuesday night. Barrett was wanted on charges of Murder in the First Degree and Felon in Possession of a Handgun charges. He is currently in custody at the Crittenden County Detention Center and is expected to appear in district court this morning for an arraignment and bond hearing.
