Garden Club

The Hughes Town & Country Garden Club held their annual Board of Mangers meeting on Jan. 16, at the home of Holly Bacon. On their agenda was the assigning of Hostesses and Programs for 2017 schedule and budget.

Flower Show

The Arkansas Federation of Garden Clubs, Inc. (AFGC) is sponsoring an Advanced Standard Flower Show “Art-rageous” Celebrating Local Roots. It will be Feb. 24-26, at the Statehouse Convention Center in Little Rock. The AFGC is looking forward to this special weekend and the opportunity to share their interest and love of gardening with the people of Arkansas. Hopefully their guests and members will learn many new things in the information provided on famous Arkansans’ arts and entertainment. This year, Teresa Shannon of the Hughes Town & Country Garden Club is the 2017 AFCG Flower Show Chairman and is on the schedule committee.

Condolences

Our prayers and thoughts go out to the family of Richard Clements Welch of Horseshoe Lake. Mr. Welch passed away on Jan. 6, at the age of 54.

Canal Gardens

The Canal Gardens Property Owners Association will hold their annual meeting on Jan. 28, at the home of Jerry and Melinda Akins, at 2 p.m. on Southwood Cove.
