Hailee Newingham and Cade Morris represented the First Assembly of God Church in the photography division at the Fine Arts Exhibit for youth held in Hot Springs recently at the Convention Center.

The yearly event was attended by students from all over the state and was combined with the youth convention.

Hailee advanced to National Competition with a score of 36 with 40 being the top score. She will compete at the National Convention to be held in Kentucky in August.

Cade received a score of 32 for his first year to enter the contest.

Others attending the annual event were Jackson Glide, Bylan Britt and J. T. Buford. Chaperones were Jeff Newingham, John Buford and Clayton Adams, church pastor.

*** Vernon and Judy Brooks of Harbor Town in Memphis and Cathy Brooks of Cordova, Tennessee visited in the home of Charlotte Brooks April 27.

*** Easter guests in the home of Linda Jo Branch included Mary Jane and J. B. Edwards, Terre and Bobby Rodgers of Earle, Julie Thompson and children Lexie and Cooper, Angela Shepard, Makayla Shepard, Brady Shepard, Colby Rogers, Brittany Boyd, Carsyn Rogers and Tristan Boyd of Wynne, Bobby Rodgers, Jr., Brittany Ayala, Layla and Stella Rodgers of Marion and Nathan Rodgers of Hot Springs.

*** Kim and Bill Watson and daughters Jessica, who is a student at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, and Morgan, spent Easter Sunday in Nesbitt, Mississippi in the home of Kim’s parents, Carolyn and Charles Branch.

*** Jimmie Barham enjoyed spending Easter in Birdeye in the home of J. Harmon Smith and family.

*** Tammy Soto and Amy Soto were in charge of the Easter egg hunt at the First Assembly of God church on April 26.

Hot dogs, chips and fruit drinks were served for lunch along with Easter cup cakes. There were prizes for each age child and homemade Easter baskets and Easter packages were favors.

The group enjoyed playing games and posing for pictures with the Easter bunny (Rev. Tony Wells).

*** The First United Methodist church was the setting for an Easter egg hunt with Coretta Allen hiding eggs and Jamayia Allen and Allison Bird directing games.

Children finding special glitter eggs received a prize. Lunch consisted of Pronto pups, chips or steak fries and cup cakes decorated by each child and also one egg dyed by each child present.

Those attending chose a treat as favors.

Atotal of 20 from Earle and Marion enjoyed the annual event.

*** Everyone is invited to the Crittenden County Museum April 17 from 2 to 4 p.m. to honor the late Bryan W. Speed.

The Red Hat Society will provide refreshments for the special occasion.
