Times’ new online look on the way

While some readers will always prefer a good old-fashioned ink-and-paper newspaper in their hands, many of today’s readers are tech-savvy on-the-go types who have become accustomed to getting their news via their home PC, laptop, tablet or smart-phone.

There’s good news on the horizon for those 21st-century types: With an anticipated March 1 projected roll-out date, the Times’ online presence will be getting an upgrade. With new features, better access and a more userfriendly interface, the new theeveningtimes.com will be better than ever, including an app in the Google Play and Apple Store available for download.

For the next couple of weeks, our web site will be down as we complete all the necessary changes for the switch. In the meantime, e-edition subscribers will need to call in and verify their subscriptions, and new subscribers can call in and ask about our current eedition and print subscription specials.

As part of this effort, we are offering all of our “paid in advance” subscribers (subscribers who do not pay their carriers directly) access to the e-edition as a part of their paid subscription. They will need to call in and sign up by Feb. 27 to be a part of the promotion.
