Janice Banks
Janice Banks, 39, of West Memphis, passed away Sunday, Jan. 31, 2016, at Regional One in Memphis. Visitation is scheduled for Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Wolfe Brothers Funeral Home. Services Saturday 1 p.m. at Pleasant Grove Church in Marion with burial in Mt. Vernon Cemetery. She leaves three daughters, Ashley Banks, Shakayla Ford and Allison Banks all of West Memphis; two sons Bryan Banks and Allen Banks both of West Memphis; her mother, Jean Banks of West Memphis; two sisters, Debra Winston of Indianapolis, Indiana and Regina Whitaker of West Memphis; and four brothers, Carl Banks of West Memphis, Randy Larkin, Derrick Banks and Keith Banks all of Indianapolis, Indiana.
Mrs. Silverstine Cody
Mrs. Silverstine Cody, 62, of Hughes, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 26, 2016, at Baptist Hospital, Forrest City. Visitation is scheduled for Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Wolfe Brothers Funeral Home. Services Saturday, 11 a.m. at Mt. Olive Church in Hughes with burial at Morning Star in Bruins. She leaves her husband, Quincy Cody of Hughes; three sons, Jerry Woods, Quincy Woods and Edward Woods all of Hughes; four sisters, Mae Brown, Emma Jones and Bobbie Murray, all of Hughes, and Margaret Ellis of Starkville, Mississippi; two brothers, Willie Woods and Robert Woods of Hughes; and six grandchildren.
John Davis
John Davis, 97, of Earle, passed away Monday, Jan. 25, 2016. Visitation is scheduled from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Mt. Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church in Crawfordsville. Services at 11 a.m. also at Mt. Pisgah MBC. Wolfe Brothers Funeral Hone in charge of arrangements. He leaves his wife, Magalean Davis of Earle; four daughters, Gloria Claxton and Azella Johnson of Earle, Jewel Collins of West Memphis, and Verdell Dewberry of Dyersburg, Tennessee; six brothers, Lovell Davis, Walker Davis, Marcus Williams, Lee Wilson and Mark Pickens all of Earle and Maso Pickens of Tacoma, Washington; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-greatgrandchildren.
Ethel Mae Gant
Ethel Mae Gant, 88, of Tunica, Mississippi, formerly of Proctor, passed away Thursday, Jan. 28, 2016 at Tunica. Visitation is scheduled for Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Wolfe Brothers Funeral Home. She leaves two sons, Eugene Fenner of Walls, Mississippi, and James Gant of Proctor; six grandchildren; 21 greatgrandchildren; and 12 greatgreat- grandchildren.
James Harris Griffin
James Harris Griffin, 72, of Crawfordsville passed away Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2016, at Methodist University Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. Mr. Griffin attended the Methodist churches in both West Memphis and Crawfordsville and was a farmer by trade most of his life. He was preceded in death by his parents, Finnis Harris (F. H.) Griffin and Clytee Trammel Griffin. Survivors include his daughter, Laura Griffin of West Memphis; a sister, Linda McCain of Fayetteville; a brother, Steve Griffin (Carissa) of Tyronza; A graveside service will be held on Thursday, Feb. 4, 2016, at 2 p.m. at Crittenden Memorial Park in Marion. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in his honor may be made to the First United Methodist Church in West Memphis or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Claris Williams, Sr., 71, of West Memphis, passed away Sunday, Jan. 31, 2016, in Marion.
