By the Evening Times News Staff
news @ theeveningtimes .com While several Marion residents are turning to the social media, as well as voicing their issues on the Times popular “Text the Times”, one crime victim is putting his money where his mouth is by offering $1,000 for the arrest and conviction of the culprit or culprits who stole his vehicle from his driveway Saturday night.
When the car thieves boldly stole Thomas Meyers vehicle from his 105 N. Cherry Street home they also made good their escape with a .38 caliber Rossi revolver, a .22 caliber magnum Derringer that was in the center console, three black plastic tool boxes in the rear of the cargo area and 50 unsold tickets to the upcoming and popular annual Knights of Columbus oyster dinner in West Memphis. The tickets are valued at $35 each.
When Marion Police Officer Jeff Allen Shehan met Meyers at approximately 2 a.m. last Saturday he was told his daughter had gone outside just prior to 2 a.m. and said the vehicle was in the driveway.
Meyers said he too went outside to check on his vehicle about 10 minutes later and discovered the vehicle missing.
Meyers was notified Tuesday by Marion police that his vehicle was recovered in Selma, Tenn., but says despite what reward might be available through Crittenden County Crimestoppers he is willing to put up $1,000 of his own money.
Anyone with information regarding those responsible for the theft are asked to contact the Marion Police Department at (870) 7392101.
