The Hughes Town and Country Garden Club held their Board of Managers (BOM) meeting on Jan. 18, at the home of Virginia Carpenter. Those in attendance were: Melinda Akins, Holly Bacon, Virginia Carpenter, Sherry Dodd, Pam Ellis and Barb Mc Kee. The BOM completed the 2016 Hostess and Program Chart and have a proposed slate of possible candidates for officers, to be voted on, when monthly meetings resume in March. The ladies enjoyed a vegetable tray, assorted chips, cheese, spinach and French onion dips, and cookies.

Canal Gardens Property Owners Association will hold their annual meeting on Saturday, Jan. 30, at the home of Lela Mc Collum, at 2:30 p.m. All homeowners are encouraged to attend, this is time for election of officers and since they only meet annually, it is a good time to voice any concerns. If you have something you would like on the agenda please contact, Lela Mc Collum at 870-317-4556.

Pancake Breakfast
The Horseshoe Lake Volunteer Fire Department will host a Pancake Breakfast, on Saturday, Jan. 30, from 7 to 9 a.m., at the Fire Station on Lake Estates Drive in the downstairs bay. Plates are $5 each and any additional donations would be greatly appreciated. If this is a success, they will try and do the last Saturday of each month.
