Sports Editor Last Thursday night was a good one for local high school teams.
Marionʼs junior boys and Wonderʼs junior girls stayed unbeaten this season while Wonderʼs boys also cashed in a key district win.
Marion won its 17th-consecutive game, holding off Jonesboro Annie Camp in a thriller at Patriot Arena.
The Junior Patriots (11-0 overall, 3-0 district) got 17 points from Keyshawn Woods, 8 from Detrick Reeves, 5 from Timothy Caesar, 1 from Lorenzo Boyce, 2 from Khiron Davis, 6 from Makayi Boyce and 1 from Isaiah Hobbs.
Wonderʼs girls won a big cross-town matchup with East 43-11 to move to 13-0 and 3-0 in the district.
Tashlee Milow hit for 16 points for Wonder and will travel to Jonesboro Annie Camp on Thursday.
The Golden Lions also topped the Red Imps 45-25 and are now 13-3 overall and 2-1 in the district.
Kenneth Phillips hit for 17 points for Wonder and Cavin Paige added 10.
