WM 7th graders shine in Duke TIP

Students recognized for testing prowess

www.wmsd.net The West Memphis School District had had 22 7th graders take the ACT.

They qualified through the Duke University Talent Identification Program.

These students scored 95 percent or above on the Iowa Basic Skills Test to qualify.

Thirteen WMSD students participated in the State Recognition program because they scored a 21 or higher on one or more areas of the ACT. Sullivan Spotts (West Junior High School) earned a composite score of 23, the highest score in this year's TIP group.

This year's participants were: Chassidy Arnold – State Recognition, Chelsei Arnold – State Recognition, Christopher Baldwin, Preston Barber, Madigan Bowman – State Recognition, Kimora Brown, Ta’Nya Burnett – State Recognition, Thomas Campbell – State Recognition, Tyler Dory, Maggie Doyle, Christopher Franklin – State Recognition, Hadley Hooper – State Recognition, Amelia Kennedy – State Recognition, Molly McFarland – State Recognition, Bethany Merritt – State Recognition, Matthew Moffitt, Tamia Oringe, Steven Porterfield, Kaiyhan Smith, Sullivan Spotts – State Recognition, Lauren Walls – State Recognition, and Coen Winter – State Recognition.
