OBITUARIES

Joyce Criswell, 64, of West Memphis died Monday, June 20, 2016 at her home.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James Cleo Collins and Mae Alice Miller Collins.

Survivors include a daughter, Janet Manes of West Memphis; a son, Raymond E. Howell of Wynne; two sisters, Mary Wilhoite of Turrell and Betty Williams of Marked Tree; two brothers, Gene Collins and James Collins both of Marked Tree; eight grandchildren, Robin, Melanie, Nichole, Mathew, William, Rusty, Peyton and Jonathan; and five great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home in West Memphis on Saturday, June 25, at 1:30 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in her honor can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Margaret B. Crouch

Margaret B. Crouch, 91, of West Memphis, passed away Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at Baptist East in Memphis, Tennessee.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John W.

Baber, Sr. and Lillian Robertson Baber; husband, Edgar Leland Crouch, Jr.; daughter, Sharon Crouch Couch; brothers, John W.

Baber, Jr., Melvin L. Baber, Dennis C. Baber; and her sister, Barbara Baber Collins.

She is survived by her son, Harold L. Crouch of Peoria, Illinois and her brother Kenneth W. Baber of Marlinton, West Virginia.

She was retired from the United States Army Corps of Engineers after thirty-four years in Federal Government as Chief of Exam Section in Finance and Accounting. She also worked thirteen and half years for the Hearing Group in West Memphis and five and half years as a secretary at First Baptist Church in West Memphis and also volunteered for seventeen years for Ladies Auxillary (Pink Ladies) at Crittenden Regional Hospital.

Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of West Memphis, American Diabetes Association, or to the charity of your choice.

Visitation will be on Monday, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at First Baptist Church in West Memphis. Services will be at 11 a.m. with interment at Elmwood Cemetery in Blytheville.

Loyal Griffin Davis

Loyal Griffin Davis, 90 of Plant City, Florida passed away Wednesday, June 15, 2016.

Griffin was a WWII Navy Veteran. He was a gunner on the USS Sangamon, which was almost lost in a kamikaze attack near Okinawa. Over 800 men were killed that night. The ship listed sharply to one side but was saved. He served in United States Navy for most of the war.

Griffin lived and worked in West Memphis as Royal Crown and Coca Cola soft drink salesman from 1950 to 1988. Griffin and Willene Davis moved to Plant City, Florida in 2005 to live closer to their son Loyal.

He was preceded in death by Thelma Willene Davis wife of 66 years and 7 months who died August 7, 2013; three brothers, Charles Davis, Owen Davis and Dee Davis; four sisters, Myrl Steel, Josephine McClintock, Bertha Sharp, and Emma South.

He was survived by his son, Loyal Robert Davis (Joyce) of Plant City, Florida; his daughter, Phyllis Davis Bailey (Alan) of Three Forks, Montana; three grandchildren, Cassandra Davis, Candace Partain, Brian Bailey; and six great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be on Saturday, June 25, at 10 a.m., with services to follow at 11 a.m. at Roller Citizens Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Crittenden Memorial Park in Marion.

Lee Henry Jackson

Lee Henry Jackson, 80, of West Memphis, died Friday, June 17, 2016.

Visitation Friday, June 24 from 6 to 8 p.m. in New St. Paul M. B.

Church, West Memphis.

Services Saturday, June 25, 11 a.m. in New St. Paul Church with visitation one hour prior. Burial in Paradise Garden Cemetery. Mr.

Jackson was a former employee of the Commercial Appeal. Anthony Funeral Home South in charge of services.

He is survived by is beloved wife with whom he shared 58 years, Alberta Wade Jackson of West Memphis. His children, Claude Lee Jackson of West Memphis; daughters, Phyllis Barnett (Kim) of Cordova, and Wanda Jackson of Chicago, Illinois.

He also leaves eight grandchildren, Keith Jackson (Tess), Tiffany Cox Pearson, Felicia Person (James), Bryan Cox, Jared Cox, Philip Barnett, Kristen Barnett, and Briona Jackson; two brothers, James Jackson of Memphis, and Nathaniel Jackson (Dorothy) of Los Angeles, California and one sister, Lily Ruth Jackson of Memphis.

He leaves a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and many other loving relatives and friends.

Nathaniel Johnson, Jr.

Nathaniel Johnson Jr., 76, of Hughes, died Wednesday, June 15, 2016, in his home.

Visitation Friday, June 24 from 6 to 8 p.m. in St. Mary M. B. Church at Hughes.

Services Saturday, June 25, 11 a.m. in First Missionary Baptist Church, West Memphis with visitation one hour prior to service. Burial in Paradise Garden Cemetery. Anthony Funeral Home, in charge of service. He is survived by his wife, Rosemary Powell Johnson of Hughes; four daughters, Yakita Johnson, Nikki Johnson, Rita Jordan Dean of West Memphis and Patricia Brown of Forrest City; four sons, Anthony Thomas of Chicago, Illinois, Christopher Johnson, Sr., Nathaniel Johnson, IV both of Hughes and Nathaniel Johnson, III of Marion; two sisters, Mattie Smith Jackson and Fannie Moten of West Memphis; two brothers, Elbert Smith and Robert Lee Johnson, Sr. of West Memphis; 25 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.

Louise Washington

Louise Washington, 81, of Shell Lake, passed away Friday, June 17, 2016 in Southaven, Mississippi.

Visitation is scheduled for Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m.

at Wolfe Brothers Funeral Home with services following at 11 a.m. Burial in Russell Cemetery, Earle.

She leaves her husband Joe Washington of Shell Lake; two daughters Sandra Olden of Shell Lake and Tyisha Washington of West Memphis; three sons: Terry Washington of Aberdeen, Mississippi; Kalama Washington of Earle; and Denzel Washington of Marion; three brothers: Albert Ramsey and Rufus Siggero of Chicago, Illinois; and Hosea Stubbs of East St. Louis; as well as 21 grandchildren; and 48 great-grandchildren.
