Check out some hot summer reads

Crawfordsville Branch Librarian The weather is heating up so why not check out a book at your local library, sit back in the air conditioning and enjoy a good read. I’ve received a new selection of books over the last two weeks and some of these are in popular demand. Don’t wait too long and let someone else beat you to them!

Here’s a preview: “ The Mathews Men” by William Geroux about seven brothers and the war against Hitler’s U-boats, “ Dead Wake – The Last Crossing of the Lusitania” by Erik Larson, “15th Affair” by James Patterson, “ Family Jewels” by Stuart Woods,

“ The Rainbow Comes and Goes” by Anderson Cooper and Gloria Vanderbilt, “ As Time Goes By” by Mary Higgins Clark and

“ Miller’s Valley” by Anna Quindlen. For younger readers, I have added books to “The 39 Clues series” and the “How I Survived” series.

As mentioned last month, I have started a children’s reading/crafting hour that began Wednesday, June 8 and will continue each Wednesday through August 3, from 2 to 3 p.m. Children aged 4 through 8 are invited to attend, but must be accompanied by someone 18 years of age or older.

I look forward to this time with your child and hope he/she will develop a love for reading. If you have any questions, you may call me at 870/823-5204. My summer library hours are Tuesday and Wednesday from 12 noon to 6 p.m., and Thursday from 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 pm.
