OBITUARY

Doris “Bug” Murphree King was born July 1, 1926, to John Craze Murphree and Cora Frances Vanlandingham Murphree, in Earle, Arkansas. She went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, June 8, 2016.

She graduated from Earle High School in 1944, and worked in the bank there and in West Memphis before becoming church secretary for 25 years at First Baptist Church of West Memphis.

She was married to Lawrence Allen (Andy) King, Sr. and is survived by five children, Mary Frances Crosthwait (Mike) of Marion, Lawrence Allen King, Jr. (Linda) of Van Buren, Sybol Shaw (Ben) of Marion, Archie Miles King III of West Memphis, and John Phillip King (Becky) of Garland, Texas. She leaves 10 grandchildren and three greatgrandchildren.

As Proverbs 31:28 says, “Her children rise up and call her blessed.”

The center of Doris’ life was her Lord, her family, her church, and her many loving, faithful friends.

Visitation will be on Monday, June 13, from 10 to 11 a.m., at First Baptist Church in West Memphis, with funeral services beginning at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Crittenden Memorial Park.
