The Horseshoe Lake Volunteer Fire Department wishes to express their thanks for everyone who came out and supported and volunteered their time for the Pancake Breakfast on May 28. Afterwards the two fire trucks left the station and went to the Surf Club building. There Larry Pipkin spoke a few words thanking our Veteran’s, Law Enforcement and Firemen for their service. He served time with the U. S. Coast Guard. Howard York served with the U.S. Navy and helped to raise the flag half-staff, along with Greg Davenport at the Surf Club Building.

The weekend of June 1012 is Arkansas State Wide Free Fishing. It’s a good time to come and enjoy any Arkansas Lake, no license required that weekend.

Library News

The Horseshoe Lake Library would like for you to come join fun to launch summer reading program “On Your Mark, Get Set, Read!” Get new library card and check out a book and get a prize. This launch will take place Saturday, June 11, from noon to 5p.m. There will be games, cookies and lemonade.
