4-H Field Day at Wapanocca National Wildlife Refuge

Youngsters prepare for Wildlife Habitat Education Program competition

County Extension Agent 4-H Crittenden County 4-H partnered with Wapanocca National Wildlife Refuge recently to host a practice 4-H Wildlife Habitat Education Program (WHEP) competition. WHEP is a 4-H youth natural resource program dedicated to teaching wildlife management to youth. Jared Nance set up over 15 different species of Arkansas wildlife for the youth to identify including: bobcat skulls, cottonmouth and wood duck mounts, and turkey scat. Participants will use this knowledge to compete at the State WHEP competition at the end of the month.
