Avondale End of School Carnival

Youngsters at Avondale Elementary School celebrated the good weather and the approaching end of the school year with the annual carnival Friday. Students had the entire day to play many games, all supervised by members of the Marion Junior High School National Junior Honor Society. The day began with Cub Scout Pack 172 getting the day started with the flag-raising ceremony and Pledge of Allegiance. GT teacher Leah Schmidt got the festivities off with a soft drink eruption as she, with the help of several other teachers, demonstrated the actions of mints dropped into large bottles of soda. Fun was happening everywhere on campus with students dancing to a video, racing around or spending a little quiet time digging for gems. A good time ahead of summer was had by all.
