Corey D. Davis

Corey D. Davis, 3, of West Memphis, died Tuesday, March 29, 2016 in Methodist University Hospital. Visitation Friday, April 8 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Anthony Funeral Home South State Room. Services Saturday, April 9, 10 a.m. in Second St. John M. B. Church, West Memphis with burial in Paradise Garden Cemetery. He is survived by his mother, Ollie Mae Byerson of West Memphis; his father, Robert Williams of Shreveport, Louisiana; his step father, Jacob Byerson of Maryland; two sisters, Adrianne Davis of Memphis and Robin Williams of Shreveport, Louisiana.

Joe David Jones

Joe David Jones, 63, entered Heaven’s gates on Saturday, April 2, 2016, at UAB Hospital. He was born on June 25, 1952, in Memphis, Tennessee. He was preceded in death by his beloved grandparents Mama (Lillian) and Chalmer Young and his father Joe Harper and has been reunited with them. He is survived by his mother, Lola Faye Jones and his life partner Sheila Erwin; siblings Steve (Christy) Jones, Linda (Jimmy Dale) Phillips; children Jeremy (Amanda) Jones, Jason (Nichole) Jones, Regina (James) Wydock, Debbie (Gary) Melton, Chief Warrant Officer III Michael (Jennifer) Jones, Brittni (Sgt. Jonathan) Daniels; grandchildren Kyra, Ashlynn, Addison, Chance, Tatum, Kelsey, Mallory and Austen; great grandchild Emmery; and a host of nieces and nephews, additional family Bart and Brian Stancil, Meg an (Logan) Lutz and Everly and special friends.

“Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.” (1 John 3:18). Joe lived his life per this verse. He was a man of action and not of words spreading love and joy wherever he went. His love for life was contagious to all around him. Joe will be missed by all who knew him but his soul lives on in the hearts of all whom he has touched along the way.

Earnest Ebernezer Rowell

Earnest Ebernezer Rowell, 68, of Edmondson, died Tuesday, March 9, 2016. Visitation Friday, April 8 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Anthony-West Funeral Home Chapel North. Service Saturday, April 9, 11 a.m. in the Anthony Funeral Home South Chapel. Burial will be in Dade Memorial Park in Miami, Florida. He is survived by one daughter, Ebony L. Rowell of Way Cross, Georgia; three sons, Ernest C. Rowell, Marvin Nathaniel Rowell and Nigel Bethel of Miami, Florida; a special friend, Oletha Sanders of Miami, Florida; four sisters, Pearline Young of Memphis, Mable Smith of Chicago, Illinois, Essie Orr and Annette Thomas of Boston, Massachusetts; three brothers, E. D. Rowell and Robert Rowell of St. Louis, Missouri and Nelson Rowell of Houston, Texas; and 19 grandchildren.

Lula Mae Wood

Lula Mae Wood, 73, of Hughes, died Wednesday, March 30, 2016 in West Memphis. Visitation Friday, April 8 from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday, April 9 from 10 to 11 a.m. Rising Sun M. B. Church. Service will follow at 11 a.m. with burial in New Morning Star Church Cemetery at Bruins, Arkansas. Anthony Funeral Home in charge of service. She is survived by one daughter, Barbara Williams of West Memphis; two sons, Ricky Neal of West Memphis and Willie Neal of Hughes; one sister, Izola Grayer of Detroit, Michigan; one brother, Frank Williams of Hughes; five grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
