Rebecca “Becky” Lynn Sechrest
Rebecca “Becky” Lynn Sechrest passed away in Memphis, Tennessee, on Thursday, Jan. 3, 2018, surrounded by her loving family at the age of 49.
Rebecca was born in West Memphis, on May 21,1969, to parents Chuck and Linda Gean. She later in life met and married her love in Brad Sechrest. The two were able to spend the next 17 years together raising their own family until God called Brad home in 2015.
Rebecca was a member of the Angel’s Way Baptist Church in Marion. She was a loving and devoted wife and respected by her friends. She was known by all to be a caring and giving person who never asked anything in return. She was a real “take charge” type of person which earned her the nickname of “Hennie” by Brad. Heard around the house, it was always “Hennie this” and Hennie that”. Rebecca had a passion for hers dogs, Mattie, Lucy and Walton. They, too, were her children. She was the best “MeMe” ever to her grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by them.
Rebecca is survived by her step-father P.L. Lewis of Horseshoe Lake; her son, Bradley Sechrest Jr. (Charlotte) of Marion; her daughter, Lindsey Stevens (Tyler) of Searcy; one half-brother, Brandon Gean (Angela) of Marked Tree; two sisters-inlaws, Dawn Robinson (Blake) of Springdale and Dana Patton (Bret) of Heber Springs; and her father, Chuck Gean.
She also leaves behind four grandchildren who simply adored her, Preslee Stevens, Brayden Stonebreaker, Ava Garza and Luna Sechrest.
Rebecca will be deeply missed by her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ness and Carolyn Sechrest, as they loved her as if she had been their own child.
She is preceded in death by her mom Linda; husband Brad; daughter, Summer Sechrest; and Brad's grandmother, Susan “Stevie” Bollinger.
In Lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that a donation be made to the West Memphis Animal Shelter. Visitation and Service will both be held on Tuesday, Jan. 8,2018, at the Angel’s Way Baptist Church in Marion. Visitation will commence at 11 a.m., with funeral services at noon.
