The city doesn’t have an ordinance against putting a double wide trailer on a lot, however, the City Council has required owners to provide them with pictures of the structures in advance before allowing them. The policy had been to not allow any dilapidated trailers in the city.

Given the direction of the get away and other phone and electronic gadget store burglaries in the Mid-South, police believe the four thieves were part of a regional burglary ring.
“Our detectives don’t think they are local,” said Langston. “We are working with a Tennessee agency as part of a larger investigation. They think it may be a part of a theft ring. Other stores have been targeted, not just AT& T stores particularly.”
What do thieves do with stolen phones with location tracking built in and known serial numbers?
“A lot of time selling them through echo ATM at Walmart are used in thefts like this or selling them on the streets,” said Langston.
Some phones can be unlocked and used and some are more difficult according to police.
“The iPhone is more difficult,” said Langston.
“We are still waiting for things from the AT& T side.
We assume they can track some of the devices.”
Police asked citizens to be savvy and avoid buying a new in the box phone off the street.
“Don’t purchase a phone outside an authorized dealer,” said Langston.
