Town Meeting

No report from Water Operator, Rick Scarbrough, he was absent. Report from Fire Chief, Billy Thomen was they did turn the tornado siren on the evening of March 13th. Hughes Fire Department also set their siren and both Fire Departments were ready to work together if they needed to. Billy Thomen did ask council to think about a new siren/generator in the next 2-3 years. Council did approve removing an old non-working generator from a trailer and letting the Fire Dept. use to mount their fuel tank on the trailer. He recommended to council selling the generator for scrape metal. The new Fire Truck is ready for pick-up on March 15 and the 1977 Fire Truck is being taking in on March 15 to a salvage yard to be dismantled and then they will receive a release stating that the Truck has been dismantled. Fire Chief Thomen reminded council they will host the last Saturday of every other month, a Pancake Breakfast. Report from Code Enforcement Officer, Vince Mc Dermott was licenses and permits were coming in. Council approved house plans for a lot on the corner of Lakeview Dr. and Horseshoe Cr. Near the Old Cotton Gin.

Under old business they are still waiting on price for mixers for the sewer pumps and new bids. A reminder that they are still testing the Tornado Siren every other Friday at noon. The new software is in and can now be installed, so that Fire Department due statements can be sent out. The Audit for 2014 Utilities has been completed and everything is fine. Under new business grass cutting bid packets are ready and can be picked up at City Hall, during office hours. Packets should be sealed and returned to City Hall by 6:30 p.m. on April 4. Meanwhile if any property needs cutting before April 4, the current contract holder, D & M Services will take care of it. Council agreed to purchase new recording device to record monthly meetings. The Easter Bunny and Egg Hunt is March 19 at 1 p.m. at City Hall/Park on Highland Dr. rain or shine.
