West Memphis man in custody after hold- up spree

ralphhardin@gmail.com West Memphis Police Investigators have made an arrest in a series of robberies that took place two weeks ago.

Maysoe Norment, 30, of West Memphis, was arrested late last week and is facing a number of charges in connection with four separate incidents.

On Feb. 14, the suspect, later identified as Norment, entered the Little Caesars on Dover Road, pointing a gun at the clerk and demanding money from the register, making his getaway with approximately $400.

On Feb. 15, what appeared to be the same suspect entered the Flash Market gas station at 700 N. Service Rd., pointing a handgun at the clerk and again demanded money from the register. The clerk complied and the suspect took over $200. The suspect then drove to the Victory gas station at 1521 N. Missouri St., robbing the clerk there at gunpoint as well, taking around approximately $300 from the register there. Norment was also charged with breaking into from a local pawn shop. Norment attempted to steal a handgun from the pawn shop by breaking the glass in the case.

Norment was taken into custody at his place of employment without incident.

He was arraigned in West Memphis District Court on Friday morning and is being held at the Crittenden County Detention Center on charges of Aggravated Robber and Breaking and/or Entering into a Building or Structure on a $500,000 bond.
