A Much Needed Donation
GP Cellulose in Memphis, TN recently donated $1,000 to support the Memphis Botanic Garden's Arboretum Outreach Program. Each year through the program, Memphis Botanic Garden – the only public botanic garden within a 200-mile radius – hosts 230,000 visitors of which 35,000 are school children in grades K-6 that participate in field trips and programs that teach them about botany, science, and offers them the opportunity to engage In the natural world. This aligns with GP's philanthropic mission to support initiatives In four areas: education, community enrichment, environment, and entrepreneurship. In the picture (blue lab coat) Pam Ellis, employee at the GP Cellulose Technology and Innovation Center (T& IC), is also a Master Gardener who resides In Crittenden County (Ark.). In the picture Ellis shares her knowledge of how to care for a co-worker's African Violet plant with GP Cellulose Public Affairs Manager James Barnes, Memphis Botanic Garden Director of Administration Mary Helen Butler, and GP Cellulose T& IC Sr. Director of R& D Susan Crenshaw.
