Earle residents can catch Walmart bus tomorrow
Bus will make three round trips on Thursday
ralphhardin@gmail.com Earle residents that need to do some shopping will have three chances to hitch a ride to the West Memphis Walmart tomorrow for a nominal fee.
The Crowley’s Ridge Development Council program aims to connect rural residents with a convenient, affordable way to get to town.
“This has been successful so far,” said Crittenden County Justice of the Peace and Earle City Councilman Kenneth Cross. “The bus will run Thursday and anyone who wants to can get on it to go to Walmart to buy groceries, pay bills, and get what they need.”
There will be three opportunities tomorrow to get on board.
“The first one is leaving at 8:30 a.m.,” said Cross. “Anyone who wants to get on that one will need to be there by 8:15.”
Additional departure times are 11:15 a.m. (be there by 11 a.m.), and 2:15 p.m. (be there by 2 p.m.).
“There” is the First Missionary Baptist Church in Earle, located at 831 Alabama Street.
There is a $5 fee for using the bus service.
