OBITUARIES

Doris Jean Manchester Burchfield passed on Saturday, Dec. 10, 2016, at Baptist Memorial Hospital Desoto, in Southaven, Mississippi. Mrs. Burchfield was born in Rector, Arkansas, on May 28, 1934, to Monroe M. and Lucille Johnson Manchester. She was a homemaker and also served in the Children’s Ministry at Central Church, in Collierville, Tennessee. She was a member of Central Church, for 46 years, and was a member of the Life’s Potential Connecting Class. Mrs. Burchfield was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Mary Jane Spicer, and her husband of 55 years, Walter Hugh Burchfield, Sr. She is survived by her two sons, Michael Burchfield (Raquel) of Morgan Hill, California and Wally Burchfield (Susan) of Franklin, Tennessee; and one daughter, Becky Stafford (Drew) of Senatobia, Mississippi. Mrs. Burchfield also leaves seven grandchildren, Genell Palazola, Joshua Burchfield, Sarah Palazola, David Burchfield (Alisha), Emily Burchfield, Bethany Stafford, and Trey Burchfield. She also leaves two greatgrandsons, Jachin Burchfield and Elijah Burchfield. Visitation will be Friday, Dec. 16, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Central Church in Collierville, Tennessee, with funeral immediately following. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Central Church, Collierville, Tennessee, or West Hills Community Church, Morgan Hill, California.

Lillie B. Conner

Lillie B. Conner, 55, of Memphis, Tennessee, passed away Friday, Dec. 9, 2016, at her residence. Visitation is scheduled for Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m., at Wolfe Brothers Funeral Home, with services following at 11 a.m. also at Wolfe Brothers Funeral Home.

She leaves her husband, Richard Conner; her father, English Summer of West Memphis; her mother, Goletha Gordon of West Memphis; a daughter, Lakesha Gordon of Memphis; two sons, Scott Gordon and Ulonszo Gordon both of West Memphis; and two grandchildren.

Malcom Jones

Malcom Jones, 56, of Memphis, formerly of West Memphis, passed away Monday, Dec. 12, 2016, at Baptist East Hospital. Visitation is scheduled for Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Wolfe Brothers Funeral Home. Services Saturday at 1 p.m., also at Wolfe Brothers Funeral Home, with burial in Paradise Garden Cemetery.

He leaves his wife, Vickie Jones of Memphis; four sisters, Marilyn Pulliam of West Memphis, Valerie Jones of O’Fallon, Illinois, Jacqueline Lattimore, and Faith Jones of Virginia Beach, Virginia; four brothers, George Jones of Champaign, Illinois, Jason Jones of Schenectady, New York, George Jones IV, and Willie Williams of Champaign, Illinois.

Timothy Simpson

Timothy Simpson, 35, of Memphis, formerly of West Memphis passed away Saturday, Dec. 3, 2016, in Memphis. Services are scheduled for Saturday at 3 p.m., at Wolfe Brothers Funeral Home.

He leaves his father, Michael Dawson; his step-father, Donald Jefferson; his mother, Jacqueline Simpson; and two sisters, Tameca Simpson and Akilah Simpson.
