Power outages in West Memphis popped up as the wind and rain blew through the City on Monday.
A tree limb shorted out the works at the Owens substation. The outage impacted businesses along North Missouri at lunch time.
The sign at Pizza Hut was twisted in from the straightline winds. The storm kept the Utilities lineman on their toes according to Electrical Superintendent Foster Rash.
“Customers were effected for about 40 minutes,” said Rash.
Just to the west, on South Center, power lines were blown down causing an outage in that neighborhood.
