OBITUARIES

Willie Mae Davidson, 84, of Hughes, died Monday, Sept. 27, 2016, in her home. Service Saturday, Oct. 1, at 1 p.m., in Hughes Chapel Church, with visitation one hour prior to service. Burial in Paradise Garden Cemetery. Anthony Funeral Home in charge of service. She leaves one daughter, Dorothy P. Davidson of Memphis; one son, James Curtis of Little Rock; two sisters, Dorothy Wright and Savella Dodd of Memphis; a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Thomas Reid

Thomas Reid formerly of Humboldt, Tennessee entered into Heaven’s gates on Monday, Sept. 26, 2016.

Mr. Reid served as the Associate Minister of Bread of Life Baptist Church, New Paradise Baptist Church and Dean of the Sunday School and B.T.U. Congress in Benton Harbor, Michigan and Assistant to the pastor of First Baptist Church in Heth. He served as a pastor of Geeter Park and New Salem Baptist Churches.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Reid; sons, Thomas Reid II and Emmanuel Murray; grandsons, Aiden Reid and Emmarrion Murray; sisters, Yvette Branigan and Rev. Emma Lindsey; and brother, Dorington Reid. Visitation will be held Saturday, Oct. 1, 2016, from 10 a.m. until noon, with the funeral service following the visitation at Second St. John Baptist Church in West Memphis.
