Families in northeast Arkansas and specifically in the Jonesboro vicinity need to pencil in Saturday, May 20, for a big day around the Arkansas State University Pond. The AGFC’s Family and Community Fishing Program is bringing its road show to Jonesboro and everyone is invited for Family Fun Day from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Along with the beginners (youngsters or older) learning how to fish and participating in the fishing and maybe catching a catfish, other outdoor activities will include BB gun shooting, archery, canoeing, fish cleaning and cooking demonstrations. Free health and wellness screenings also will be offered. Lunch will be provided while supplies last. Bring your fishing gear. Children ages 16 or older will need a valid AGFC fishing license.
The only thing you need to do now is register, as it’s required: Visit www.agfc.com to go find the registration page.
This event is sponsored by the AGFC, Arkansas State University, Arkansas Department of Health, Arkansas Hunters Feeding the Hungry, Arkansas State Parks, city of Jonesboro, Delta Population Health Institute, Arkansas Game and Fish Foundation and Ambetter of Arkansas.
Get in on the fun this weekend and make the short trip up the interstate to Jonesboro for the AGFC’s Family Fishing Day event at Arkansas State. Don’t forget to register ahead of time!
