Six Razorbacks named to 2023 All-SEC Softball team

Delce makes team for second time, 5 others earn honors as well

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The No. 12 Arkansas Razorback softball team (38-17) garnered six All-Southeastern Conference selections, the league announced Friday.

For the second straight year, redshirt senior RHP Chenise Delce was named First Team All-SEC while five others earned their first All-SEC honors. Fifth-year senior Kristina Foreman, redshirt junior Rylin Hedgecock, junior Cylie Halvorson and freshmen Hannah Camenzind and Reagan Johnson were all recognized as second-team honorees.

Camenzind and Johnson are the first Razorback freshmen to claim all-conference honors since Mary Haff was named Second Team All-SEC in 2018.

Redshirt senior RHP Chenise Delce (20-9) has dominated inside the circle all season long. The Oklahoma City native has compiled a 1.82 ERA against some of the toughest competition. Delce ranks third in the SEC in strikeouts with 183 and has twirled four double-digit strikeout games this season. Delce is amongst the SEC leaders in saves with four and sits third in the league in overall wins with 20. A difference-maker with the rock in her hands, the right-hander has 10 top-25 decisions with seven of those against league competition. Delce ranks fourth in league-only strikeouts with 84.

has quickly blossomed into a star in the nation’s toughest conference. Johnson ranks second in the league in hits with 73. On a national scale, Johnson’s 73 base knocks lead all freshmen and stand eighth overall. She currently ties for the third-most hits in single-season program history, chasing after Danielle Gibson’s 2022 record of 81. During league-only play, Johnson posted the fourth-most hits by an SEC player with 28. The Karnes City, Texas, product notched a .333 batting average across 24 SEC contests.

Tied for fourth in the nation in home runs (20), designated player Rylin Hedgecock has showcased why she’s one of the best hitters in the conference.

Hedgecock drove in the second-most runs by an SEC player during conference play (23). Hedgecock also blasted eight home runs in league-only play.

The Valdosta, Ga., product had two multi-home run outings – vs. Florida on March 26 (two home runs) and vs. Kentucky on April 22 (three home runs).

In her first year as a Razorback, first baseman Cylie Halvorson made an immediate impact at first and at the plate. The Sioux Falls, S.D., native has tallied 13 games with multiple RBI this season, including six outings with threeplus RBI. During conference play, Halvorson ranked fifth in runs scored (18), seventh in home runs with six, eighth in total bases (45) and eighth in RBI (19).

Another standout transfer for the Hogs, second baseman Kristina Foreman has been instrumental throughout her time in Fayetteville. The Tampa product has totaled five games with multiple hits and five contests with multiple RBI.

Foreman tied for the fourth-most hits by a Razorback player during league play this season. A tough out for opponents, Foreman held a .397 onbase percentage throughout SEC play.

Another All-SEC freshman honoree, LHP Hannah Camenzind turned heads in her rookie season.

Camenzind registered the third-best ERA by a freshman league pitcher (3.52).

Hailing from Valley, Neb., Camenzind sports a 4-2 mark with three of her victories against SEC competition. Camenzind picked up her first top-three win after combining to shutout No. 3 Tennessee, 2-0, for a series win at Bogle Park on May 1.
