Sure Taco Bell is good for a quick cheap meal but when is West Memphis going to get some real restaurants? You have to go to Memphis or Southaven to get a decent sit-down meal! [ Editor’s Note: OK so a couple of things… first, you can say Taco Bell is “ cheap” but there ain’t no place cheap these days.

I got lunch there the day it opened and it was $ 11 just for myself, and I assure you I’m no big spender. It is the same at every other fast food place in the world too, so I’m not just calling out Taco Bell here. My son is very upset that they took the “ 4- for- 4” off the menu at Wendy’s. Now it’s the “ Biggie Bag” and it’s five bucks instead of four. No, that’s not the end of the world but it’s still a 25% markup for the same food.

Second, I wouldn’t say there’s no “ decent” sit-down restaurants in the community. We enjoy Siciliy’s, Colton’s, Veano’s, IHOP, Applebee’s, and if you want something a little more upscale, Southland has some great food. I’m sure I’m forgetting someone but the point it, yes you

bridge or to Jonesboro to get, say, Porch & Parlor or Texas de Brazil or Ruth’s Chris, but there’s no way a place like that would make it over here. There’s a big difference in opening a restaurant in a city of a million people and opening one in a city of 25,000]
