ASU Mid- South get back over .500 with strong performance at home

asumidsouthsports.com The Greyhounds had three players score over 20 points and dominated from the jump ball as they took a 112-60 victory over the Central Baptist College Mustangs JV Thursday at The Dog House.

J.T. Smith led the ASU Mid-South charge, scoring a career-high 27 points, 6 assists and 3 rebounds.

Sam Smith set the Greyhound single-game rebounding record with 21 rebounds to go with 26 points and becomes the first player in school history to finish with 20-plus points and 20-plus rebounds in the same game. Christian Thompson also finished with a double-double with 21 points and 11 boards and a game-high 6 assists along with J.T.

Smith.

Rounding out the scoring was O.J. Marrs with 14 points, Jailen Anderson finished with 13 points, and Mekhai Washington chipped in 11 points.

The Greyhounds (3-2) shot a season-high 59.0% from the field while dominating the boards 53-35 while forcing 20 turnovers and committing only 11.

ASU Mid-South returns to The Dog House tonight to take on Crowley’s Ridge College JV in the second half of a scheduled doubleheader.

The women tip-off the action at 5:30 p.m. followed by the men‘s contest

at 7:30 p.m.
