We’re not in West Virginia or Kentucky but a real Hatfields- and-McCoys type feud has erupted with gunshot death and numerous shootings in a war between two extended families in Earle. County Sheriff Office Investigators said the shooting death of of 26-year-old Lazerick Jones this weekend was the latest round of deadly gunplay between the Abram and the Jones families.

Sheriff’s Department investigators obtained warrants for Stacy Orlando Abram and Stacy Malcomb Abram for the weekend drive-by shotgun blast mortally wounding Jones in the chest and striking Sir Jerry Lewis of West Memphis in the left leg. The pair were at a stop sign in Earle according to Lewis when Orlando and Malcomb Abram rolled up beside their vehicle and opened fire.

The Abram brothers added to their already-lengthy criminal notoriety, according to County Criminal Investigation Division Chief Todd Grooms.

“We picked up Orlando on a traffic stop shortly after we obtained a warrant on Monday afternoon,” said Grooms. Malcomb is still at large.”

The chief walked through the narrative on the latest shooting supplied by the surviving victim, Lewis.

“What we know at this time is another vehicle drove by and opened fire on them,” said Grooms, “ and (Lewis) identified Orlando as the driver and Malcomb as the shooter.”

Grooms stepped back and reviewed the running feud. He said the series of shootings were reprisals.

“We’ve had all these shootings over the past year in Earle,” said Grooms. “and its the same two extended families shooting at each other.”

Sir Jeffery Lewis was charged in the shooting death of Jarvis Moore in West Memphis. The Abram brothers Orlando and Stacy ‘Shunta’ Abram, felons, and father were arrested inlate February at an Earle dollar store for open carrying side arms. The father, Stacy Abram, Jr. said the guns were his. Shunta Abram also had a loaded AK rifle in his car. Orlando’s mugshot showed his bandage from being shot in the head just above his eye by Randle Walker at the same dollar store a week earlier in a gun fight. Orlando Abram, was already awaiting trial for a shooting in the 500 block of third street in Earle on November 14, and arrested again at the dollar store on warrants for Battery in the First Degree, committing a terroristic act, and terroristic threatening stemming from the February 17 shooting there. Shunta Abram, who was currently on bond for a firearms possession charge in Jonesboro, was arrested in February and charged with being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm. The trio bonded out of jail the Monday, the first business day, after their arrests in February. The sheriff’s office also sought Malcolm Abram for the dollar store shooting. Malcom had been caught on video, arrested and awaited trial in the Thanksgiving Day, November 26, shooting of a man at the Valero station in Earle.

“The majority of our cases in Earle have revolved around the last name Jones or the last name Abram, or a family member there of,” said Grooms. “The Thanksgiving day shooting at Valero, that victim was related to the Jones family. There have been five shooting victims in all over the last seven months.”
