Slip sliding away…

Ice coats Crittenden County ahead of major snowstorm It hasn’t been this cold for this long in a long, long time.

With overnight lows dipping into the single digits over the long weekend, Crittenden County is trapped in a winter weather nightmare.

It all started last week when a cold front brought plunging temperatures and a wintry mix overnight Wednesday into Thursday, shutting down schools. The temperature hasn’t been above freezing since.

On Sunday, the issue was compounded by more winter weather, this time in the form of snow. Schools, already scheduled to be out for Monday’s Presidents Day holiday, were also closed Thursday and Friday, making for a chilly five-day weekend.
