West Memphis Police charged three people with sex related crimes on Thursday. Police booked Marion based Attorney Bryan Donaldson, age 50, on one count of rape.
Police also arrested two West Memphians. Ricky Gaines, age 32, was held on rape/sexual intercourse/ deviate activity and transporting minor for prohibited sexual conduct. Police arrested Victoria McClure, age 27, for transporting a minor for prohibited sexual conduct and kidnapping.
The police department wouldn’t say if the Thursday arrests were related. Police Captain Troy Galtelli maintained tight lips on Friday. Galtelli represents the police as the public information officer but drew the Donaldson case as a detective.
“I can’t make a comment on that because it’s still an ongoing investigation,” said Galtelli. “I’ve gotten with the chief and right now I can’t release anything. If I’m working it, I won’t really be talking about it. Any information will be forwarded through the chief.”
Police executed a search warrant at Donaldson’s office and were seen leading him away on Thursday. Donaldson bailed out on temporary bond shortly after being booked.
McClure and Gaines remained in custody.
Yesterday morning WMPD maintained its no comment stance on the three arrests and deflected the specific question if the three arrests were related.
“It’s still ongoing, we may have a statement later this week,” said Galtelli.
