JONESBORO — Arkansas State Women’s Basketball added another to the fold Wednesday in preparation for the 2020-21 season.

Standout guard Jordyn Brown signed her National Letter of Intent with the Red Wolves after a strong two-year junior-college career at Fresno City College in California, where she led the Rams in scoring (16.5 per game), three-point shooting (42.5 percent) and free-throw shooting (80.0 percent).

“We are excited to have Jordyn become part of our family and eager to get her to Jonesboro,” head coach Matt Daniel said. “On the floor, she is a fierce competitor that can play and guard multiple positions as well as having shot over 40 percent from three.”

In her two seasons, she averaged 12.6 points per game in 53 games played (35 starts), shooting 34.8 percent (195 of 561) from the field and 33.3 percent from three-point range (90 of 270). She was also a standout at the free-throw line, converting 186 of 261 (71.3 percent). Brown also averaged 4.2 rebounds per game and 1.4 steals.

As a sophomore, Brown became one of the key pieces of FCC’s success, leading the Rams in scoring (16.5 points/game) while shooting a team-best 42.5 percent from three (51 of 120) and 80.0 percent at the charity stripe (118 of 146). Her performance this past season led to being named First Team All- Central Valley Conference and Third Team All-State.

In her rookie year, Brown averaged 9.3 points and 3.3 rebounds per game in 29 games played, 11 starts.

Off the court, Brown also stood out in the classroom, earning Academic All-State honors at FCC.

She joins guard Hilani Cantone (Apopka, Florida) and guard/forward Victoria Dames (Loganville, Georgia), who inked with the Red Wolves during the early signing period in November.
