Walmart limits number of shoppers to meet social distancing guidelines

ralphhardin@gmail.com Heading out to pick up some essential supplies? If so, in addition to keeping six feet away from your fellow shoppers and possibly wearing a face mask, you will also need to be aware of new measures being taken by the nation’s largest retailer.

In a release posted by the City of Marion, the popular one-stop shop is limiting the number of people who can be inside the store at any one time.

As of April 4, “all Walmart stores will only allow five people per 1,000 square feet of store space in at a time.”

The new guidelines will allow shoppers to adhere to proximity mandates and help keep the COVID-19 virus from spreading.

“For the Marion Walmart, that means a maximum of 206 people in the store based on square footage,” the release said. “Employees will be counting as you enter and leave. Remember social distancing inside.”
