The Earle Music Coterie met at the First United Methodist Church, Jan. 16.

Rev. Tony Wells, president, presided and led the reading of the club collect.

Mary Jo Staggs told the story of the song “Deep River.”

Rev. Wells read the poem “Ode to Winter” by Mathew Holloway.

Eric Elms was in charge of the program.

He introduced Dr. J.D.

Kelly, professor Emeritus at Arkansas State University. He presented a selection of favored classics on the piano include, Organ Prelude in G minor, Sonata in B flat Major Allegro, Etude in E Major , Etude in C minor.

Co hosts were Elleene Holloway, Mary Jo Staggs and Sue Ann Elms.

Others present were Laura Pritchard, Jane Speed, Anga Turner and Alex Turner.

The Happy Club met at the First United Methodist Church in the Morrison Fellowship Hall. Feb. 3 where they enjoyed a potluck dinner.

The tables carried out the Valentine theme.

Joanna McLamore was recognized for having a recent birthday.

Rev. Tony Wells gave the devotional. He read John 17:22 for the days meditation and the poem “Winter Evening” by Emile Nelligan. The group sang “The Bond of Love.”

Others present were, Janis Lancaster, Doris Gately, Laura Pritchard, Jane Speed, Vickey Wells, Faye Thompson, J.W. Ellis, Dot McKinney, Elleene Holloway and Johnny Jenkins.

The women of he First Assembly of God Church enjoyed having supper at the Fellowship

menu was chicken, baked beans, slaw, potato salad and desert.

Erica Peer gave the devotional on love.

The Canasta Club met at the home of Judy Sharp in Marked Tree recently. Kaye Lehman of Marion was high score, Kim Fraley of Crawfordsville was second, Lou Burns of Marked Tree won bingo and Brenda Shempert of Wynne was low.

Vickey Wells spend a week recently in the home of her sister Sharon Calvin in Jacksonville,

Linda Jo Branch and Terre Rodgers along with Cindy Dickey of Fayetteville and Julie Thompson of Wynne enjoyed a week long vacation in Cancun recently. They were guests at Royal Fans Resort.

Activities included zip lining and parasailing.

Judy and Vernon Brooks of Murfressboro, Tenn. And Cathy Brooks of Cordova were recent vistitors of Charlotte Brooks where they celebrated her birthday.
