Creating a ‘Bill of Rights Sanctuary’

By Michael Coulter

Okay Ralph, here is one right up your leftist alley and surely a debate you’ll love to engage in.

So seems the little more than 11,000 residents of Scott County, located on Arkansas’ western border, are declaring their county a “Bill of Rights sanctuary,” and are saying they won’t enforce any laws it deems unconstitutional — including laws restricting guns.

And, I’m told, same of the other 74 counties throughout the state are considering similar ordinances which leads me to explain to you why this is all of a sudden making news in Arkansas.

Let me begin by pointing out that you liberals, and the left-wing politicians you elect are pushing hard this anti-gun, anti-second amendment agenda to the point when those of us who believe in our individual rights as citizens are cleverly being infringed upon by these liberal politicians that have taken control of states such as California and those on the east coast.

This “Second Amendment sanctuary” movement has spread across several Western states and has taken root in Virginia since November, when these liberal Democrats seized power of the House and Senate, paving the way to approve strict gun-control measures that this Democratic Gov. Ralph Northam has vowed to pursue.

This crackpot governor is pushing for universal background checks and a total ban on so-called assault rifles, high capacity magazines and silencers. Even you are smart enough to know, Ralph, this is absolute political malarkey knowing full well this is simply infringing upon the rights of the law-abiding citizens and having absolutely lo impact on the criminals. This is nothing more than political grandstanding which makes me absolutely nauseated.

It is ridiculous antics such as this that makes more and more people realize what frauds and fakes politicians are and how they attempt to shove their self-serving political agendas down the throats of those voters who elected them.

Well, since Scott County has become the first county in the state to follow a wave of hundreds of cities and counties nationwide that have declared themselves “Second Amendment sanctuaries,” I am now hearing that an attorney for the Association of Arkansas Counties Risk Management Fund, is telling county officials to beware of what they are doing.

This wimpy attorney is saying there is no need for any county to declare itself a sovereign jurisdiction and what this ordinance does is put the county in opposition to the constitutional system that has served the country for over 200 years.

Fortunately for those of us in Arkansas, we have a Republican governor and an all-Republican congressional delegation, which right now protects us from the liberal leftist agenda the Democrats are pushing.

I like this idea that instead of making a declaration involving only the Second Amendment, Scott County’s ordinance included the Bill of Rights, which is the first 10 amendments to the U.S. Constitution.

Nevertheless Ralph, I feel it is important that we take a proactive approach to this onslaught from the likes of Democratic lawmakers attacking our individual rights, which by the way, includes freedom of religion, speech and of the press.

The liberal Democratic agenda today is clearly an attack on our rights and while I am not going so far as to advocate a similar ordinance in Crittenden County at this point I do believe it is important to know there are counter steps being taken to confront these wacko politicians.
