I am totally shocked!!!

Found out on the jail roster one of the guys that did the drive by in West Memphis and killed an off duty police officer, who had been locked up 2 yrs without going to trial is OUT ON THE STREETS!!!

He was arrested at 2:08 a.m. Saturday morning and charged with theft by receiving a firearm!!!!!! Really?????

Crittenden County what in the world has caused this to happen, you didn’t give him a speedy trial so that’s his automatic get outta jail????? Now the public is in danger again!!!!!

Thanks for nothing!!!

Think we need a new prosecutor!!! 2 yrs in regular jail for 3 drivebys and killing a Police Officer IS NOT RIGHT!!!!!! [Editor’s Note: I’m not usually one for all the exclamation points and question marks, but I think they’re appropriate here. Yes, what you’re saying is absolutely true. There was a story about it in Wednesday’s paper (along with our MLK coverage… I’m sure Dr. King would be so proud). The criminal in question here is Demarcus Parker. I don’t know if you saw, but he is currently being held on a $500,000 bond, so hopefully, he’ll stay locked up, and hopefully they’ll get around to prosecuting him this time] *** While driving in the dark one night this week, I was so thankful for Percy Shaw for inventing the center lane reflectors that we take for granted. We senior citizens need all the help we can get.

[Editor’s Note: Hey, don’t think us not-quitesenior citizens don’t need those two. I have terrible night vision. I also have trouble seeing in the rain… and I get driving anxiety in dense traffic. Every time I find myself driving in Memphis at night in the rain, I just tell myself, “Well, I guess I’ll just keep going until I crash into something.” Add in a construction zone “wall of death” and I’d probably just crash on purpose to get it over with]
