It was camouflage night at Trinity Baptist Church as West Memphis Christian School hunted for a win against arch-rival Lee Academy Cougars.

Sometimes you get the prey, sometime the prey gets you. The Cougars took down both the boys and the girls varsity squads from WMCS.

The Black Knights were overrun by the Cougars 50 -29. The home team boys played the visitors from Lee Academy even in the fourth quarter but were unable to trim the deficit any. Sam Ritter became tenacious on the boards grabbing four consecutive offensive boards in one possession. The team took the floor in the fourth committed to passing on offense. The Black Knights swung the ball around the horn for at least five passes before attempting an entry and wore down the Cougars with the best offensive quarter of the game.

Nathan Hunter, number 0, scored a team-high eight points with a pair of three-point shots in the second half.

“The boys started off well but lulled in the middle, “ said Coach Josh Pardu. “They played hard until the finish, and I am real proud of them for that.”

The Lady Knights were taken down by the Lady cougars losing by 11, 42-31. The girls mixed shot selection and took shots from all over the floor. Grace Patterson led the team scoring with 17. Number 10, Piper Farmer played hard grinding the paint for rebounds.

“The girls had a rough start but the fell back, regrouped and made a game of it,” said Coach Josh Pardu. “We had a much better showing against them than the first time we met. We have one more game against them.”
