Tigers will face Penn State in Cotton Bowl Classic

gotigersgo.com MEMPHIS, Tenn. – After capturing its first outright conference championship in 50 years, the No. 17 Memphis Tigers earned an invitation to play in the Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic. The 84th Classic pairs the Tigers against the No. 10 Penn State Nittany Lions of the Big Ten. Kickoff from AT& T Stadium in Dallas is set for Dec. 28 at 11 a.m. and will be broadcast on ESPN.

The Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic will mark the first meeting between No.

17 Memphis and No. 10 Penn State. Memphis is 1-0 this season against firsttime opponents (Southern). Penn State travels to Dallas with a 10-2 record, including a 7-2 mark in Big Ten play.

• Tickets — The Memphis Athletics Ticket Office (570 Normal) will be open for extended hours to assist with purchasing bowl tickets: Sunday, Dece. 8 — 2 to 6 p.m.

Monday, Dec. 9 – Wednesday, Dec. 11 — 8:30 a.m.6:00 p.m.

The priority deadline to reserve bowl tickets through GoTigersGoTix.

com or our ticket office is Wednesday, Dec. 11 at 6 p.m. Your credit card will not be charged until your seats have been assigned and allocated, which we anticipate being completed by Monday, Dec. 16. There is a limit of eight tickets that may be purchased per account, however requests for additional seats will be filled in the event there is additional availability.

Requesting more than eight tickets together may impact the location of your tickets.

More information will be provided regarding when tickets may be picked up, printed or transferred to a mobile device.

Ticket seating locations will be based on availability and assigned within the ticketing level(s) you request/purchase based on your 2019 Tiger Scholarship Fund giving level first, then priority points within each level. We anticipate all seats being allocated by Monday, Dec. 16. • Hotel & Travel — For the Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic, there are designated hotels assigned to the participating teams. We ask our fans to please give every consideration to staying in one of these hotels, as the Tigers are financially responsible for a minimum number of room nights.

The University of Memphis has partnered with Anthony Travel, which has put together travel packages for Tiger fans that want to fly or drive. For more information on these packages, go to www.GoTigersTravel. com. Packages will be filled on a first come, first served basis. There, fans can also book hotel rooms in the official Memphis Tigers room block.
