Using an onslaught of three-pointers in the first half, the Lady Greyhounds raced out of the gate and cruised to an 85-77 victory over Williams Baptist University JV Monday at The Dog House.

Returning from a twogame swing in Texas, the Lady Greyhounds were playing their third game in three days after traveling over 1,000 miles round-trip that saw the ASU Mid-South women drop a pair of tough games.

Playing their first road game since the season- opener Nov. 1, the Lady Greyhounds found themselves down from the start in falling 76-50 at Cisco College in Texas on Saturday.

The Lady Wranglers went on a 24-8 run to start the game and led 50-23 at the half before ASU Mid-South knew what hit them.

But the Lady Greyhounds battled back in the second half and actually won the fourth quarter, 15-7, to set the final margin.

Contributing to the loss, ASU Mid-South shot just 37.0 percent from the field and 15.4 percent from the three-point line, although they lost the rebounding battle 42-33 and committed 28 turnovers.

Aaliyah Lee led the Lady Greyhounds with 17 points and 8 rebounds while Cierra Penn finished with 8 rebounds as well to go with 8 points and a game-high 5 assists.

Continuing their twogame swing in Texas, next up was a Sunday afternoon tilt at Ranger College.

Leading entering the fourth quarter, the Lady Greyhounds fell victim to a big Lady Rangers’ run to drop a 63-55 decision Sunday.

ASU Mid-South trailed 29-28 at the half but fought back to lead 49-44 after the third period, but the Lady Rangers exploded for a 19-6 advantage to seal the win. The Lady Greyhounds held Ranger to just 36.1 percent shooting from the field and controlled the boards 41-33, but 25 turnovers hurt their cause.

Lee again led ASU Mid-South with 22 points and 10 rebounds, and Penn finished with 11 points and a team-high 3 assists before fouling out.

Back in the friendly confines of The Dog House, the Lady Greyhounds opened up a lead early thanks in large part to firsthalf shooting from Wynne- native Tyler Hitchcock, who hit 5 of ASU Mid-South’s 8 three-pointers on the way to a 55-30 halftime lead. And although the visiting Lady Eagles would close the gap with a 47-point second half, the closest they would come to the home team was the final margin.

Hitchcock and Lee both finished with 23 points each as Lee also pulled down a game-high 11 rebounds. Penn and Alindavia Lockett both dished out 5 assists, and Adrianne Chambers pulled down 10 rebounds as she and Jerrisha Rice both finished with 9 points.

The Lady Greyhounds (4-5) are off the rest of the week for final exams before finishing the semester with three consecutive home games next week, hosting Jackson State Community College Tuesday, Northeast Mississippi Community College Thursday, and Mississippi Delta Community College Saturday at The Dog House.
