The West Memphis Christian Black Knights football team came up just short in a 30-28 loss in Friday’s road match-up with the Calhoun Academy Cougars of Pittsboro,

Knights now sport a 0-3 record. They take the field next when they travel once again for a road game on Friday, Sept.

Friday, Sept. 13, West Memphis (0-1) takes on Blytheville (0-1), at home.

Four-player scramble, with proceeds from the tournament helping to provided young Henry with equipment and resources to address his ongoing medical issues. There will be “closest to the pin” and “longest drive” prizes, as well as a cash prize for the winners. • Big River Crossing Half-Marathon & 5K — Run Across the Mississippi River in the Big River Crossing Half-Marathon & 5K. It’s time to start training for one of the coolest and most unique races in the area: The Big River Half-Marathon & 5K. This half-marathon is the only one of its kind to allow participants to cross the Arkansas-Tennessee state line via the Big River Crossing. Both races begin at Tom Lee Park, but will take runners in two different directions. The 5K will direct runners through Downtown Memphis, and the half-marathon will bring runners down Riverside Drive, and then over Big River Crossing through the Big River Trail, a 7-mile paved path through the Arkansas floodplains with beautiful riverside views. Sunday, Nov 2, — 5K starts at 8 a.m.; half-marathon starts at 8:30 a.m.
