Immortal Words

When I think of the promises on the political left for free stuff, I always cast my thoughts back to the example of Peggy Joseph, a black woman from Florida who heard Obama give a speech back in 2008 when he was on the campaign trail and was initially hopeful about his candidacy.

Her words are actually on Youtube, if you care to hear them for yourself.

Here’s the quote from 2008: “It was the most memorable time of my life. It was a touching moment because I never thought this day would ever happen. I won’t have to worry about putting gas in my car. I won’t have to worry about paying my mortgage. You know, if I help him, he’s gonna help me.”

Wow.

Sounds good, huh? Never have to worry about anything… everything is going to be free, free, free… right?

Like now.

The entire field on the Democrat Party slate running for President is saying the same thing once again: Free healthcare…even for illegals.

Only, who is going to pay for the medical care and the doctors and other health professionals? I don’t think they are going to work for nothing, are they?

I know I wouldn’t.

And free college tuition.

But, wait, how are those tenured left-wing ivory- towered professors going to afford groceries, and how will the institutions continue to have building projects and the like?

And then there are reparations that the leftist/ socialists tout: For African Americans, for gay people, for Latinos in the form of open borders—benefits based purely on skin color, or sexual orientation. A grab-bag of goodies that won’t end.

Follow that up with the Green New Deal initiative where liberals will set up their corporate and political cronies up by awarding government contracts to them in advance and later count their ill-gotten gain in the dark of night behind closed doors.

Then there is social discrimination like the socalled “Wealth Tax” which some might think appeals to the disadvantaged, but will instead only serve to send business investors out of the country or pull their manufacturing/service jobs from employees in America to lesser-paid employees on foreign fields.

It has another name: It is called ‘theft.’ And it is the heart and soul of the phony American Socialist agenda, which is really a smoke and mirrors power-ploy by those in government who are too lazy to come up with workable programs, and too stupid to figure out innovative plans for the working middle class to prosper in this country.

And worse than that.

It is all a lie…all of it.

It’s the biggest con job in the world: The old Bait-And-Switch. That is, promise them anything, and give the nothing.

Don’t believe me? Then read on and see the words of the same Peggy Joseph 8 years later when she was interviewed by filmmaker Joel Gilbert, who tracked her down to see if she was still overcome with euphoria after all these years on the subject of Obama and his campaign promises.

“He lied about everything,” she said now of President Obama.

Gilbert asked Joseph if Obama helped pay the expenses she spoke of in the video clip.

“Absolutely not,” she replied. “Mortgage got worse and gas prices got higher.

During that time, we needed a change but not change for the worse,” Joseph explained. “He had a very big voice, just like the Wizard of Oz; the wizard was this little teeny, teeny tiny man and I think that is the same thing with Obama.

“Not who we thought, or expected him to be,” she concluded.

Huh?

Seems like someone got a whole lot smarter.

It remains to be seen if the American public will.
