With the calendar turning to June, local youngsters looking forward to summer break can also look forward to some summer fun at First Baptist Church of West Memphis.

Vacation Bible School season is fast approaching, and West Memphis First Baptist Church is doing it up right this year, with a great new theme — “In the Wild!”

It all starts this Sunday, with a pre-registration block party from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Kids and parents can enjoy Snow-cones, cotton candy, games, inflatables and prizes. There will be a worship rally from 4:45 to 5:15 p.m. and a Bible study from 5:15 to 6 p.m. And prizes! Prizes that will be given away are: Air Pods, Boys and Girls Bikes, and a 50-inch TV. “You must be present to win so stick around for all the fun,” says youth pastor Billy Beech. “All prizes must be picked up after Bible Study at 6:15 p.m. on June 2.”

Then, bright and early on Monday morning, June 3, it’s time to go “In the Wild” from 9 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. each day through Thursday, June 6.

Gas up the all-terrain vehicle and head out on a wilderness adventure like no other. Grab your camera, zoom in, and snap a snapshot of elephants, polar bears, crocodiles, and so much more! This summer, kids will focus in on some amazing real-life encounters with Jesus.

Each encounter is like a snapshot-a specific moment in time captures on the pages of Scripture.

Kids will discover that each snapshot of Jesus is an opportunity to respond to the gospel. “Are you ready to zoom in and focus on Jesus? The adventure of a lifetime awaits!”
