Mr. Lawrence Manuel Clouse, resident of Earle, departed this life on Monday, May 13, 2019, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis at the age of 74. Mr.

Clouse was born in Richmond, California on Friday, June 16, 1944, the son of Mr. Lawrence H. Clouse and Mrs. Edna (Craft) Clouse.

Mr. Clouse was a 1963 graduate of Marked Tree High School, and on May 17, 1963 he and the former Miss Carolyn Ingram were united in marriage. From 1966 to 1968, Manuel proudly served his country in the United States Army in the Vietnam War and achieved the rank of sergeant. Manuel was an EMT and firefighter for Earle Volunteer Fire Department, president of the Jaycee’s, a member of Rotary Club and Lions Club, a Mason, Boy Scout Leader, and Band Booster president. Manuel enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a member of Earle First Assembly of God.

Mr. Clouse was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Pauline Clouse-Cummings.

He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 56 years, Carolyn Clouse of the home; a son, Manuel Flint Clouse and husband, John Farris, of Nashville; two daughters, Sherry Clouse-Knighten and husband, Robert, of Greers Ferry, and Tammy Clouse-Soto of Marion; an honorary daughter, Cynthia Conner; four grandchildren, John Knighten and wife, Kasie, Cassie Soto, Ashley Knighten, and Amy Soto; six great-grandchildren, Cassandra Soto, Kira Harper, Dillon Knighten, Hunter Knighten, Bella Harper, and Cole Harper; his faithful pet and companion, Buddy; and a host of other relatives and friends.

The Clouse family will hold a celebration of life at 2 p.m.

on Sunday, June 2, 2019, at Earle First Assembly of God. Donations may be made in Mr. Clouse’s honor to St.

Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the Wounded Warrior Project.
