WM School District West Junior High eighth-grader Riley Langston has been accepted to the FBI National Academy Associates.

This is the 21st Session of the FBI National Academy Associates Youth Leadership Program. The daughter of Norrita and Robert Langston, Riley will head to Quanitco, VA for eight days in June for the academy program.

“I will go through a lot of the FBI training and a bunch of leadership training,” said Riley, whose father is the assistant chief for the West Memphis and 10 from other areas of the world. The application for this program is detailed.

A candidate must submit his/her GPA and community involvement, write an essay on leadership and submit letters of recommendation.

The next phase of the application process is a phone interview with three people simultaneously across the state. Once selected as an Arkansas representative, the FBI must approve.

Their days will begin at 6 a.m. with classes on ethics, leadership, values and choices.

'The interesting thing about it is I can go and see behind the scenes and get more information about this line of work,” said Riley.
