Joe Baratti, Sr., 90, life-long Crittenden County farmer, passed away on March 16, 2019, at his home in West Memphis.

Joe was born April 29, 1928, in Marion to Peter Thomas “Pete” and Irene Angeletti Baratti. He grew up in Crawfordsville, where he graduated from Crawfordsville High School in 1946. He attended Arkansas State University on a football scholarship. He married the love of his life, Jean Richardson Baratti in 1948 and they spent the next 70 wonderful years together raising their family in Crittenden County, where he farmed for 66 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church in West Memphis. He was active in the Crawfordsville Rotary Club and was a past president of Meadowbrook Country Club. When he wasn’t farming, “Goose”, which he was lovingly called by his friends, enjoyed playing golf, cooking and gardening, excelling at all three.

Joe is preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Josephine Baratti Duncan.

Survivors include his loving and caring wife of 70 years, Jean Baratti; one son, Joe Baratti, Jr. (Linda); one daughter, Sheree Baratti Montgomery (Tom); three grandsons: Pete Baratti, Matt Montgomery and Micah Montgomery (Reaghan); two granddaughters: Bekah Montgomery and Sarah Montgomery Carter (Tyler); and two great-grandsons: Zeke and Knox Carter. He is also survived by one sister, Dr. Barbara Baratti McGrew and lifelong employee, friend and family member, Freddie McVay.

Visitation will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, March 19, at West Memphis First Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. Interment will take place at Crittenden Memorial Park in Marion.

James “Jim” Bradbury

James “Jim” Bradbury, 95, of Marion passed away on Thursday, March 14, 2019, in his home.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Alberta Bradbury; his loving wife, Mary Bradbury; his two brothers, Bill Bradbury and Ulysses “Pete” Bradbury; his two sisters, Ida May “Sissy” Bay and Edna “Eddie” Allen. Jim is survived by his two daughters, Betsy Bradbury (Bo Rodgers) and Patsy Haines; his three grandchildren, T.J., Christina, and Morganna; his seven great grandchildren; his brother, George “Pee Wee” Brandbury; and his two sisters, Mary Schwey, and Helen “Whimpy” Knouse.

Visitation will be held on Monday, March 18, 6 to 9 p.m. with a funeral services on Tuesday, March 19, 11 a.m. at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home, 201 Pine St., West Memphis, AR. Lubertha Collins

Lubertha Collins, 76, of Chicago, Illinois, died March 4, 2019, in her home.

She is survived by four sisters, Laverne Dorsey of Memphis, Edna Earley, Rosie Payne and Dorothy Brewer of West Memphis; a brother, Donald Chess.

Visitation was held on Friday, March 14, in the Anthony Funeral Home South State Room. Services were Saturday, March 15 in Old St. Paul M. B. Church, with burial in Marion Memorial Cemetery.
